Week 25 ( March 18- 2)

Thanks to all the parents who were able to meet for interviews. It was great to share all the great learning happening in room 7!

In Literacy this week, we learned about 2 different types of poems.  We read different Haiku poems and reviewed what syllables are. Then the grade 2/3's wrote their own Haiku about nature.  We also looked at a silly rhyming poem, called Limericks.

In math this week, we finished our pattern unit looking at shrinking patterns.  We build them, described them, and they looked at shrinking patterns in number sequences.  We also completed our patterns' assessment showing everything we learned about repeating, growing and shrinking patterns.

In Science and Social Studies this week, we finished our look at light energy with the grade 3's building and designing their nightlights.  The grade 2/3's did a great job thinking like an engineer and solving a problem.  We also talked about the first day of Spring, The Spring Equinox, and the importance of this day to our Indigenous ways of knowing.
