Happy Summer Solstice!! In literacy this week, we worked on our descriptive paragraph writing about ducks.  The grade 3's researched facts about ducks and then wrote their ideas into a non-fiction paragraph.  They used Fancy Fact starters and 3- scoop words to complete some of their best writing this year.  They did a wonderful job revising their writing, looking for punctuation and sentences to change. In math this week, we finished our unit on currency.  Several students brought in currency from different countries around the world, and we compared it to our Canadian coins and banknotes.  We also reviewed our work with equations, working on adding and subtracting equations to solve for the unknown number.  Ducks, Ducks and Ducks!!! In math this week, our focus was on perimeter.  We learned what it was and how we can measure it.  We tried to measure the perimeter of our feet and discovered 2 different ways to measure perimeter.  Then we discovered the different shapes can have the same size perimeter, when we all used 30 blocks to build different sized rectangles.    We
