Week 22 ( Feb 26- March 1)

Happy Swimming Week!  

In literacy this week, we focused on writing a poem about Anti-bullying.  We focused on writing our poem from 3 different points of view, the bully, the bullied and the bystander.  We also worked on our typing skills, and typed up a good copy of our poems to add to our pink shirts.  We also reviewed the spelling patterns of 'au', 'aw' and 'ou' , 'ow'.  

In math this week, we began exploring patterns.  We reviewed what a repeated pattern was and that a pattern is something that repeated itself.  We used pattern blocks to build and create repeating patterns and growing patterns.

In Science this week, we completed our study of Sound Energy by building and presenting musical instruments.  Each instrument, needed to create sound, change pitch, volume and duration.

Looking Ahead to Next Week:

1. In Literacy, we will work on writing Thank-you letters to parent council about swimming lessons.

2. In math, we will extend repeating patterns and learn about growing patterns.

3. In Science, we will begin looking at light energy.
