Week 29 (April 7- 11)

In Literacy, this week we began writing about ladybugs after we watching a video about ladybugs.  Then we started planning another adventure story.  We worked at organizing and planning out our ideas.  In word work, we looked at the suffix of /ing/ and how it makes the meaning of words continuous.  We also learned about doubling the last consonant in the base word when adding /ing/.  We also created a word web for the base word, play.

In math this week, we continued reviewing our multiplication skills and continued with a little of division.  The grade two's looked at time, the days of the week and months of the year.  We finished off our week, playing some fact fluency games to practice our skills.

In the afternoons, we continued our unit of gymnastics in the gym.  We learned how to create Smart beginings and endings, as well as create routines while making our bodies into different shapes. We also spend time outside, sketching and enjoying the warmer weather and looking for ladybugs.
