Week 35 (May 20 -24)

In Literacy this week, we shared and planned what we did over the long weekend.  Then we began to  look at how to revise our own writing for capital letters, end puncuation and missing words, using 3-2-1 Check it!  In morphology, we reviewed how the endings, -est and -er change the meanings of words.  We reviewed how to drop the y and add an i when adding est and er.  We also created a graphic of how  -er and -est can be used to add decribtion to our writing.

In our math groups, we continued looking at Fractions.  This week, we looked at representing fractions, naming fractions, comparing fractions and ordering fractions.  We also did a fraction talk, explaining what fractions they obsereved within a picture. We also did some basic fact practice outside with sidewalk chalk, working with our partner to roll dice and write the facts out on the compound.

In social studies, we continued to learn about the country of Ukraine by learning about the geography.

In gym, we enjoyed the outdoors playing some soccer and going for a community walk.  We also sketched the trees in the front of our school that are in full bloom.  We connected our drawing to a book we read, Picture a Trees by Barabra Reid.
